jan
I have heard that the TV licence in France is free for the over 60's, if this is true how do I get the money back that I have paid for this year because I was 60 last AprilThanks in advance Jan[8-)]
Cat
It used to be free for over 65s, but was changed a while back. Now it is only free for pensioners if they were aged 65 on or before 1st January 2004. Otherwise it's calculated in a similar way to exemption from other taxes, and is means tested. Unless you are exempt from paying Taxe d'Habitation you'll almost certainly have to pay the redevance audiovisuelle (TV licence).http://vosdroits.service-public.fr/particuliers/F90.xhtml?&n=Retraite&l=N16. http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/1059675/ShowPost.aspx

Mr Coeur de Lion
Out of interest, who gets the tv licence money in France? Is there a tv channel similar to the Beeb that hogs it all, or does it just go to the taxman?
