Le_Jars
I'd like to be able to listen to XFM in London here in deepest SW France. I can listen via the internet obviously, but elsewhere in the house I would like to listen directly from my radio or hi-fi. Anyone any ideas how I could go about this? Le_Jars
I would, but I don't have satellite. I wondered what options are open to me. Satellite is one, yes, but are there any other ways?
Bob T
I think that an 800 meter directional aerial might be you only option.
Pierre ZFP
A few things spring to mind. 1) If you have a wireless router then get an internet radio2) Take the output from your PC and use wireless headphones3) Take the output from your PC and put it through a rabbit to an amp and a pair of speakers.4) Get a USB FM transmitter and stick it in the PC then you can use an ordinary FM radio to pick up your re-transmission. Saw one of these in Auchan this week for just 19 euros.I use option 2) when out in the garden and option 3) to send the signal upstairs in the house. It so happens that both my headphones and rabbit are made by Phillips and they work very well but I'm sure there are many others out there. Le_Jars
I like the idea of a USB transmitter. I presume they work in the same way an 'i-trip' works on an ipod in that it just sends the signal to a radio tuned into it? I only need it to reach my tuner downstairs, about 7 metres in a straight line. I'd love to get a rabbit, but don't have a garden [;-)]
Pierre ZFP
Dunno about an i-trip. I seem to have an aversion to anything that starts 'i-' but if it is the sort of thingy that plugs into the ciggy lighter of your car and broadcasts on your radio then yes, that's it but a USB version
Le_Jars
Yes, that's it. What, though, is a rabbit?

Simon
I have a couple of these that allow you to play internet radio and other sources directly to your hifi from your wireless home internet.http://www.slimdevices.com/Simon
