chirpy Posted April 23, 2008 Author Share Posted April 23, 2008 I have done it when I was unable to retrieve files ,when several problems occurred after direction from my son-amazing the younger people are so far ahead of us old paper and pen people.!!This sorted the problem as I RESET DATE TO A KNOWN TIME 2 MONTHS EARLIER.Yesterday my cat came through the window-not xp window -behind me and sat on the lap top key board!-Looking for a mouse no doubt-however a mssage was just coming through during this time and it stopped and I SPENT A LOT OF TIME TRYING TO RECONNECT LAST NIGHT WITHOUT SUCCESS AND I THOUGHT RESET OF TIME WAS A GOOD IDEA.However since I could not remember how to do this i pulled all connections to modem tel wall socket etc.and to my amazement i got online again.I thought it would be good to get the reset method for possible future use.Thanks to all of you From a newy computer "expert" -perhaps in 10 years time.[:)]p.s. I HAVE BANNED THE CAT FROM MY ROOM BUT HE IS A RASCAL AND KNOWS LOTS OF TRICKS!!!!!!!!!!!PERHAPS I WILL THREATEN TO NEUTER HIM!DO YOU THINK THAT WILL DO THE TRICK??
