gosub
Any suggestions welcome. I have friends who had a brico type satellite dish & box without a Sky Card slot, installed professionally and they were getting a good reception on all the available Sky channels. I have loaned them a Sky dodgy box with card, now they get a poor picture on the non card required channels BBC etc. and a good picture on the channels that require the card channel4 etc. They have not disturbed the dish, just changed over boxes.Thanks. Martin963
Sounds like the Brico-bog-standard-whatever has a more sensitive tuner than your old dodgy box, and that the 2D signals as received on your friend's dish are a bit down on the others. Most likely and easiest thing to try first is to stand/hover in front of the dish and give the LNB a 15 deg twist clockwise and see if that does the trick. Many French installers don't seem to realise the importance of skew as "their" satellites are higher in the sky than Astra 2.If that doesn't work we'll think of some other torture for your friends. You may of course need to loosen the screws clamping the LNB. gosub
Thanks for the speedy reply Martin, I will be seeing them this evening and will get them to try the LNB twist sounds like a new dance.
