splishsplash
You should not use these types of cleaners on LCD, Plasma etc. There are special cleaners you can find online by searching for cleaning LCD & Plasma screens, but I just use one of those magic dusters on mine & they come up like new. PeteinHeusse
Hi,If the screen is glass and not plasma/lcd, you may find a mild solution of washing up liquid on a slightly damp cloth works well. Obviously disconnect the tv from the mains first!! Also make sure it is well polished and dryed with a soft cloth or paper towel afterwards.I'm sure I've seen a proprietary LCD screen cleaner in Super U as well, if you feel like splashing out!!Pete

Pierre ZFP
TFT = Thin Film TransistorIt's the technology used in most (all?) LCD screens nowadays. Before this, the passive matrix LCD had trouble keeping up with fast moving images

If there is no glass screen cover then the following info may be of interest. LCD screens have a protective coat applied at the factory. To clean them you should not use abrasive or chemical cleaners just a soft damp cloth. I would suggest that the 'shadow' is where you have rubbed the protective coat off the screen. Pierre ZFP
Is it plasma or LCD?Unfortunately plasma screens have a tendency to degrade over time and the pixels won't light up properly or at all. This is especially so if the screen has been knocked or dare I say it, rubbed a bit hard when cleaning.
