Orange TV + wifi extender + sky dish

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I am a bit in shock at the moment as something has worked out and in its equation is FT.

I have changed my livebox pro for a live box with free telephone calls and a tv decoder... all for no extra charges or losses.

The FT shop in Villefranche was excellent, helpful, knowledgeable etc....

Within 1 day I have it all working, setup and running.. bar the tv.

The tv decoder is a nice to have but the real reason was the free phone calls.

My questions:

1) Can I use a sky dish without moving it for the Orange decoder.. it requires an astra dish that points at hot bird 13.

2) The tv is a long way from the livebox and therefore I am experimenting with a wifi extender that I have which I connect the ethernet of the extender to the decoder.. Do you think it would work.

It is presently doing an update but is taking along time and so I have my doubts....

cheers

osie

Answers:

1   no - the sky channels are on 28.2°E For the Orange tv, you have a chice of 3 satellites

  • Astra (19,2°E)

  • Eutelsat Hot Bird (13°E)

  • Eutelsat Atlantic Bird 3 ( 5 °W)

2 not sure about your wifi extender suggestion but see this page for info about using liveplugs in case the telly is far away from the livebox
