Théière
As I will be in France next week for a few weeks and cannot bear to be parted from you wonderful people, Can anyone suggest a dial up service/pay as you go that does not take over the machine and does not require a tie in.Thanks in anticipation. Mary
We signed up for a dial-up account with Alice to use while in France, and have had no problems.

Mary
Sorry Teapot, but it seems that Alice may no longer be offering this service. I had a look at the web site (Alice.fr) and the only deals on offer appeared to be broadband, and there were links to a couple of postings by customers about "le fin de bas-debit".Anyone else out there know of another provider, otherwise I'll be in France in about 10 days and look out my Alice paperwork and see if that's any more helpful than the web site.Mary
Théière
Thanks Mary,It seems Alice is now FT orange, found a comparison site http://translate.google.com/translate?tl=en&sourceid=ie8-activity&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ariase.com%2Ffr%2Ffree%2Facces-libre.html

Théière
Thanks Gosub, I couldn't set it up, I think it's now closed to new customers and is only working for existing customers now [:(]
Danny
Hello TeapotAlice is still Alice but has been bought by Iliad the company who owns Free. Orange is still Orange and nothing to do with Alice and they also offer a dial up service http://abonnez-vous.orange.fr/residentiel/bd/bdacceslibre.aspxFree.fr access libre - here is the page to sign up http://subscribe.free.fr/accesgratuit/index.html seems an identical offer to the Orange one.I can't find any other reliable offers for you. It seems that dial up has been mostly forgotten as most places are elegible for broadband.Danny

Théière
I think the Orange deal sounds better because of the booster available, have to get myself a stopwatch [:)]
