New phone line installation

Does anyone know for certain if Neuf or any other providers can install new lines, or is it just FT who can do this please?

Our house is a converted barn and did not ever have a phone, just water and electric.

The actual work is done by FT, but it can be requested via SFR-Neuf and I assume other operators.

"L’ouverture de ligne s’adresse aux personnes qui n’ont pas d’abonnement téléphonique à leur domicile. Vous avez simplement besoin de savoir depuis combien de temps l’ancien occupant a résilié son abonnement.

This presumes that there is already a physical phone line to the premises. I don't think the OP has any line at all and if that is the case then it will have to be through FT/Orange to order a new line.

Normal charge is about 55 euros if I remember correctly, assuming it is close to an existing network. If it is far from an existing line then it may be costly.

One of my neighbours lives in a new build and the existing phone lines are pole-mounted across the lane. FT want €3,000 to supply a line to the house [:'(] - overhead lines are now a no-no it seems.

Thanks for all the replies,certainly hope FT do not want €3000 though.Just our luck for the poles to be on opposite side of the lane!![:(]
