ashjr
We are about to take possession of a town house in Oloron but will only be there for between 2-4 weeks at a time, perhaps every couple of months or so. We will be arranging for bills to be paid by direct debit and dont expect to have much if any post. But obviously we dont want post sitting in our post box for weeks at a time and we havent yet made friends with neighbours who might empty it for us. Can anyone tell us about having a box at the local post office, how it works, how much it costs etc.? Would we be better removing the box outside our house completely, or just putting up a small notice equivalent to the "no free papers" used in the UK? What is the appropriate French phrase for this? We remember seeing one somewhere!
