Steph1
HiSometimes a rectangular yellow box with an exclamation mark inside appears over my internet connection indicator, when I click on it it says Limited Connectivity and nothing works until I restart my computer. Can anyone tell me why this happens and what I can do to rectify it? Many thanks.
Cat
Do you use a modem router? Try switching the modem off (or removing the power cable) for 10 seconds, and then repowering the modem.

Also are you using a 'dongle' with your comp, or has it a wireless network card?Explanations later, depending on your replies!Sue
tenniswitch
Before rebooting, have you tried right-clicking the internet connection icon and clicking on repair?I have a temperamental laptop that sends the "limited or no connectivity" message any time I fail to allow it a full 5 minutes to boot. The repair function always fixes things.

Mr Coeur de Lion
Same thing happens to me on occasion. Just reset the box (turn off and on) is the quickest and easiest way.

How does your son's laptop connect wirelessly - network card or dongle, and how does yours?Sue
