Pickles
The moral seems to be to keep your anti-virus software up to date ... and if you haven't got any, get some NOW!I've just had an issue with the computer of one of my colleagues where there was a piece of malware that Sophos could detect but evidently could not clean. We got rid of it in the end by using the new (to Europe anyway) Microsoft Security Essentials, and ditching Sophos. Now normally I would not be a Microsoft fan, but this actually sorted out the problem PDQ. At work we have licences for Sophos and McAfee: I have used both and was getting annoyed with McAfee's (and Sophos' to a more limited extent) tendency to take over all resources unless it was taken outside and given a sound beating in a dark alley. MSE seems to be much better behaved: worth keeping an eye on. Incidentally, AVG/AVAST, even in freebie versions, seem to be better than McAfee...Incidentally, the malware had come from a download site being use by his son ...RegardsPickles
