Martin963 Posted October 14, 2009 Share Posted October 14, 2009 How do I stop it trying to update?Every time we turn the Vista computer on Windows Vista comes up with a "Continue/Cancel" option on java seeking permission to update. It's not even getting as far as ZoneAlarm's wall as far as I can see.I've gone into Java Control box countless times, selected update tab, turned off automatic updates, pressed APPLY, and EVERY TIME it disobeys me, even when I check the status of Java Control box seconds later, c'est a dire that the automatic update tick box is again ticked even though I have only just unticked it.I OBJECT to "direct disobedience", so either I need to uninstall Java and do without, or one of you kind people could perhaps tell me how to stop this irritation.Thanks!
