There is a little synopsis on ADSL availability on pp 6 of the current edition. I was surprised to see that the example gave 116 metres from the exchange with ADSL 2+ available but the estimated download speed at only 2 Mbps. The figures did not seem to add up; so I decided to do a quick research. No great problem the author of the article is quoted in the article so quickly established his telephone number at his address in Rennes-les -bains. The usual checks on availability gave a different distance from the exchange but revealed that the line was limited to 2Mbps with either ADSL 2 or ADSL 2+; obviously an artificial restriction not related to the technical parameters of the line.
