Rowan Posted August 3, 2010 Share Posted August 3, 2010 This may sound a bit odd, but since replacing the batteries on my wireless mouse, the volume control on my iMAc changes by itself, and it is driving me mad, It keeps creeping up, and hte mute button on the control panel doesn't work. DavidSteward Posted August 17, 2010 Share Posted August 17, 2010 I am using 10.6.4 so can't check if this is in the same place but I assume it will be. Try trashing your User/Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.systemsound.plist file and then reset the volume levels.It may also help to run Disk Utility from the install DVD and/or reset the PRAM by booting and holding down the cmd option P R keys while it does two start noises.David Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
