best satellite/wifi provider for South of France

Recommended Posts

just in case you don't get any other answers....

It would help if you could elaborate. You mention satellite and wifi..???? renting out to who? long term rental or holiday rentals? any particular nationality?

Satellite normally refers to satellite Tv and wifi normally means internet with wifi capability around your apartment.

Do you want TV ?which channels English or French?

Do you want internet access?

these are usually separate things depending on what channels or services you would like.

bobbieb27, you cannot access the combined SKY/WiFi package outside the UK. Even in the Channel Islands, whilst we can legally subscribe to SKY, we cannot get the broadband element as that uses the telephone lines, which tells SKY where the box is located.

Have you checked with your buildings rules of association that you are allowed your own satellite dish? More often than not you have to use a shared dish, which can limit your options.

Legally you cannot subscribe to UK SKY in France, so it is a question of setting up a box in the UK and then taking it to France, without SKY's knowledge! As it is a rental apartment a Freesat box is probably a better idea.

Hi thanks for response - we would like a basic TV package where we could get BBC channels and a selection of basic channels, plus we want WiFi .  The apartment will be rented out I would imagine to mainly English people, but possibly other nationalities for holiday short term lets.  However, we will be staying there ourselves!
