Ian
My dear lady wife would like to watch Andy Murray next week when he plays at the Australian Open. It's being broadcast on Eurosport, but not having a subscription to S**, we can't watch it. Quel dommage. However, we have access to french digital broadcasting, via the Astra satellite and a french digi-box, and I have noticed assorted european channels are also available. I wonder if the eurosport channel is perhaps available among these? Can anyone help?Regards
Quillan
You can get Eurosport, Eurosport News and Eurosport 2 (thats the one with the tennis on you want) in France by either TNT or Satellite other than that i.e. subscription required etc I do not know.If you have Orange the tennis will be on Orange Sport but you have to pay for 1 Euro per month for the first 3 months then 3 Euros per month after that. Martin963
The German version of Eurosport is free to air on Astra 112226 MHz, H, 27500 kbps, 3/4 FECbut it's in German and I'm rather assuming from what Quillan is saying that it might not carry the tennis you're after. Danny
Eurosport is only available free to air on Astra 1 with German audio. You can always turn the sound down if you want! You can try a scan on the following frequency:12226 horizontal 27500http://fr.kingofsat.net/tp.php?tp=91DannyEDIT - Martin got there first...... pachapapa
I watch Eurosport frequently but Eurosport 2 although on HotBird 6/8/9 13°E is in HD MPEG4 and a decodeur is required. There is Tennis on both channels, apparently they play more than one match at a time.[:D]But Eurosport has a lot of tennis the programming is available on the link below.http://tv.eurosport.de/tvhome.shtmlAs an engineer I did study german at university; indeed today german is almost essential to keep up to speed on technological development. Ian
What a comprehensive response!@Martin963/Jane and Danny, thanks for the pointers - I've tuned in the french digi-box and LOML is now happily watching it. The german commentary is unimportant, it's sport after all. (Many's the time I've wished for NO commentary....)@Quillan/Pachapapa, they seem to be broadcasting tennis on ordinary Eurosport. Whether Andy will be shown, we shall see. Thanks for the link to the schedule, it helps. Thanks for all your assistance, gained me some brownie points
Mr Coeur de Lion
Is he still in it, or has he bombed out as per?

Mr Coeur de Lion
Wow, if he doesn't win it this year, he never will. I see Federer and Nadal are out.Could this be the first British male tennis player to win a tournament (that means anything) in my 39 years of life? Ian
I knew Nadal, but Federer as well? Wow!As you say, his best chance ever (which is usually when we scots blow it - we prefer being the underdogs...)
Mr Coeur de Lion
Cracks me up when Tiger Tim (who was anything but a tiger) was the number 1, he was always called the English number 1. Now Scotland has a decent player and England doesn't, Murray is the British number 1 so the English don't get left out lol.
Quillan
If memory serves, although I don't know much about tennis, I believe Murray started his career saying he was Scotish and kept 'banging on' about the fact he was Scotish then he changed his tune almost overnight. DerekJ
Well he got fairly well hammered today. Good!I've still not forgiven him for his "anyone but England" comment.
