Martin963
I suspect that our ever-acquisitive-technologically friend PPP is the only one who can get much out of this:Atlantic Bird 3, 11665 MHz, Horizontal, SR = 10850 kbps, MPEG 4, and (I suspect) DVB-SLet us know if it "does" anything ppp! Martin963
Tee hee!PPP is the only person I know of with a 3D TV and the above (at present a test card) is thought to be a 3D test by TF1. I believe they broadcast something in 3D last summer as a test, could it have been some minor football match or something....?I'm not even sure if his 3D TV works, it was broken by the time he'd got it..... Martin963
I think that this might well turn into another minor football match, they're now at Wembley where some poor Broadcast Assistant is sitting holding a clapper board which he is thumping every five seconds or so to ensure sync with the sound. On a conventional TV it comes up as two images, side by side, and heavily squashed sideways so that the verticals are accentuated. Presumably a 3D set superimposes them. Whether or not the encryption will go on when a bunch of over-paid poseurs mince onto the pitch remains to be seen. Particularly as there's a Sky logo periodically visible..... pachapapa
I installed a terrestrial TNT aerial and used the cable previously used for Analogue AB3; effectively to avoid purchasing a Fransat HD 3d Ready Set top box due firstly to the cost of the 3D boxes and secondly the TV has an onboard FTA HD Tuner.Same as last year, all the Roland Garros Centre Court is in 3D on Orange TV.http://www.hd-motion.com/2011/05/02/le-tournoi-de-tennis-de-roland-garros-2011-en-3d-sur-orange/TF1 will be transmitting the Wembly Match this evening on Fransat, including the publicity, as well.http://www.hd-motion.com/2011/05/27/fc-barcelone-manchester-united-la-finale-egalement-en-3d-sur-la-tv-dorange/I resume this is the logo P.S. Orange are also doing the Wembly Final.Edit: Please read Wembly as Wembley, my apologies.[:P]
pachapapa
This years LG sets have now got 2D/3D algorithm as have National Panasonic. I had a look at them in Currys Hereford Branch just over a week ago.But the 3D Passive glasses dont convince due to the reduced picture definition ( still got my Avatar glasses from Leicester somewhere [:)]).Samsung have announced plans for full 1080p passive 3D for next year.Oh and Q can now close off his anxiety mode as glasses will be arriving shortly with clip -on prescribed lenses.[:P]
pachapapa
Dont know about 3D but the TNT HD here was sometimes pixellated. No problem with other HD channels and no problem with TF1 after the game. Suggests poor relay Wembley to France.
