Biarritz
I have changed to SFR due to the incompetence and unhelpful attitude of France Telecom and they are no better plus they have to arrange for FT to look at problems on the line.Since early November, I have had only intermittent access and in Mid November, an SFR engineer came and confirmed a problem on the line and not in the house. There was to be a meeting on site with him and a FT engineer but this never happened. Every time I, or a fluent french speaking friend, calls 1023, the respondent starts the whole process again, despite being told the history and insists that they check out the line for a day before they can call on a FT engineer! They then fail to do anything and I have to start all over again.I have tried emailing from their website and every time I do, I get an automatic ackowledgement and then the next day an automatic reply thanking me for my email of the date it was sent and telling me that I should call 1023 for further information...............this even where I have specifally requested diect intervention.Does anyone know of a number that I can call where I can get them to do anything and even better an english speaking person so I can discuss the problem myself rather than a through a french speaking third party? Failmig that, does anyone know how I can get resolution.....................as the only way I can see to get this sorted is to tell them to stuff off and go to another operator or evn crawl back to FT!!Thanks
suein56
When a friend had initial teething problems with her SFR connection set-up I used this site for advice and resolution. There are real SFR people who reply who have the power to make things happen; even getting an engineer to come out if that is what is needed. Though apparently SFR suffer the same fate as us mere mortels with regard to getting FT to do things relating to line problems. You will need to register to write about your problem. Here As an aside if your house is older than 15 years you have checked to see if you had a condensateur in your main telephone box; and if so the you need to remove it as per the advice in the link.Sue
