phone interferance

We have had no problems with our orange phone and internet for 5 years now,but suddenly about 2 weeks ago the voip phone is very bad with a lot of crackling and the engaged tone that suddenly clears.The main phone is fine and the internet works ok its just the internet phone and of course thats what gives us our free calls.

Any suggestions,

Have you tried a different actual telephone (ie the actual thing you talk into!) on the VOIP service?

It was the live box that as faulty as i phoned the English orange help line as a last resort expecting the usual waits,but the phone was answered each time in 1 ring and great service and a follow up call to check.

My dealings with the help have been quite satisfactory, shame it's not a free call though.

As a general point, anyone still using the old style livebox can exchange it at an Orange shop for a newer livebox 2 and would be advised to do so.

Totally agree the service is great and the new box seems to be better and you get a lot of extras with it now and the installation disc is now in english as well as french and very easy to install.

You absolutely don't need the installation disk for anything, all it does is scatter useless junk over your hard drive.

Throw it away is the only advice you will ever hear here and elsewhere !
