louloulaloopski
Youtube seems to be more fluid since the tapangoldy bots were taken down.http://www.dailydot.com/news/youtube-universal-sony-fake-views-black-hat/Although I have a Freebox but rarely use it for youtube viewing. Any serious youtube views are better using the SmartTV application via the Samsung server. The conglomo abuse of the tube also seems to be waning.http://www.latribune.fr/technos-medias/internet/20121228trib000739756/youtube-lance-une-vaste-operation-nettoyage-au-grand-dam-d-universal-music.html
Quillan
Whilst I agree that using one of the "SmartTV" systems is the best way to view these things I would beg to differ about using Samsung. I would rather go with LG which the majority of experts recommend. Seems Samsung has the best range of applications but compared to LG most of them are very bad quality where as LG prefer to go for quality rather than quantity which is why the top reviews consider it better. NormanH
I posted about this a couple of months agohttp://services.completefrance.com/forums/completefrance/cs/forums/2828120/ShowPost.aspxI solved it at first by passing by the https://www.proxfree.com/ service, just to watch YouTube.Since I have been using Overplay https://www.overplay.net/ which gives you a SmartDNS service without slowing down the connection as with VPN or ExpatShield type services I have had no problems. This make me suspect that the problem is not with Free, but with YouTube/GoogleNow they don't recognise a DNS associated with Free I don't get throttled. AnOther
Youtube is inherently variable but I too have recently started using Overplay and in general it seems a bit better via that than directly with Orange.I also tend to find that with Overplay or without HTML5 videos play better than Flash ones. You can opt in to the HTML5 trial here: http://www.youtube.com/html5?hl=en-GB&gl=GB
louloulaloopski
On thursday 03/01/13 Free introduced an update to the firmware for the Freebox revolution, the software is in Beta form and the main novelty is the introduction of publicity blocking in default on the ISP's server.Observers today have noted that the blockage of publicity has been particularly effective with connections to the Google website.[:D][:D][:D]There is apparently some commercial symbiosis between Google and youtube. It is possible that bandwidth will increase between the server and Freebox.......http://www.20minutes.fr/high-tech/1073235-freebox-revolution-bloque-desormais-pubs-internet

NormanH
Thanks for the tip.I have rebooted my freebox [:)]I still get the best results with the proxfree method, just for watching YouTube clips in HD, especially in the eveningThe videos are played with something called flowplayer which is a HTML 5 player
louloulaloopski
I would rather go with LG which the majority of experts recommend..Well at least there is agreement amongst the majority of experts on the inferior products from japan et al.Whether LG or Samsung is better, at any moment in time, is a relatively subjective affair.Subjectively the majority of experts might consider that LG are forging ahead with the introduction THIS WEEK on the south korean market of the very first commercially available large screen OLED model. One might remember that both companies exhibited OLED development models in 4K last spring.Personally I would have bought a Samsung in 2010, an LG in 2011 and a Samsung in 2012.In fact I am more likely to use the Samsung BD Player with a wireless connection to the Freebox for YT viewing rather than the actual TV; as the signal will then reach the TV after tweeting by the Denon 1.4a compatible amplifier. The result is good quality sound a 1920 x 1080i picture.Edit;LG Press release dated 02/01/13.http://www.lgnewsroom.com/newsroom/contents_main.php?category=6&product_code=15&product_type=15&post_index=2819
