Jonzjob
We are upgrading our haunted fish tank so that it complies with the changes to French TV in April. The tank we favour came top of the Que Choisir list for 40" UHD sets.So off we went to Darty and looked for it. Not there. So I asked one of the assistants if we could order it? He checked on the system and it ain't on their listing and they can't get it!We tried in several other places, but it seems as if this particular model is the equivalent of hens teeth. One hit on amazon.fr and that's it. So, undeterred, I went onto the Darty site to ask why they can't get the so called most popular model? After about 1/2 hour or so I thought that I had found their contact e-mail place? Their site is about as user friendly as a cornered rat! and I hadn't found it at all, just some place where you can make comments. I asked why they can't get that model and I'm not holding my breath waiting for an answer!I have come to the conclusion, a long time back, that anyone who is a good web site producer could make a fortune if he/she could get past the morons who create most of the sites here! They are total c r a p!If anyone knows the e-mail address for Darty queries could you let me know please?
Department71
Jon, its not by any chance a Samsung is it? lots of good reviews in the UK on the 40" model, one even has a freesat tuner built into it as well as a normal tuner.Agree about the lousy websites in France it seems as if they don't want you to bother them with questions. Good customer service.Have you tried the internet based firms, we got our fridge freezer from one of them, no problems apart from not accepting a UK credit card, but we managed to bypass that. woolybanana
Have you tried Boulanger, JJ?Look for TVs that have Qdots as they have much better definition.
andyh4
Dare I ask, but is this TV still in production? Or has it been superseded? The technology is moving so fast now (super HD and variants) that models are being replaced very quickly and a good review from QC will just cause any remaining stock to be bought up. BJSLIV
I've found this to be a useful site to see who has what and current priceshttp://www.lcd-compare.com/
woolybanana
Interesting site that but adverts are paid for so some offers or companies may not appear there. Additionally, there may be delivery or other charges added to the stated price so do check very, very carefully as the offer may not be better than your local supermarket or Expert. Jonzjob
It is a Samsung UE40JU6400 and yes it's a current model and yes it has some very good reviews. You can even shout at it and it will obey, a bit like SWMBO [:-))] (well, I can dream [8-)] )This was supposed to have been posted a couple of hours earlier, but lunch intervened, then rugby..We are trying to buy locally. Then IF there are any problems they can be sorted so much easier. We have had to use Darty's warranty once before and it was very good.We have an Expert here and they are one of the places that told us they couldn't get it as it ain't on the list? We have used them for several of our bigger buys and normally they are good too. But hey-ho!!
BJSLIV
Darty show that model as available for Click and Collect or free delivery.http://www.darty.com/nav/achat/hifi_video/televiseurs-led/grand_ecran_led/samsung_ue40ju6000_4k_uhd.html
Jonzjob
That is for the JU6000 and we are after the JU6400. Even if you do a search for the 6400 on the Darty site it assumes that you don't really want that one, you want this one [blink]A bit like yer phone predicting what you want to say in a text me-thinks!!
