Test Ringback number

In the U.K. there used to be a number (174) I think that would test if the ringer was working. I think that upon dialing the num ber and replacing the handset your phone would ring.

Does anyone know if this can be done in France ?.

A Google search suggests that the French number is 3644. No guarantees that this will work

Well I guarantee that it will cost you dearly and that you wont ring it again when you get your phone bill.

To the OP, if you have a mobile phone and have a reseau where you live just phone your home number and dont answer, it will cost you nothing, I'm guessing that you have already thought of that so sorry for stating the obvious.

Chancer, I was merely trying to answer the OPs question. It did strike me in these days of mobile phones to be a fairly pointless service.

If you are on VOIP with a router, accessing it 192.168.1.1 will give you access to the diagnostics. There is one for the phone (well on my SFR there is) which test tonality, phone numbers and ring tone.

Also, if you dial 3103 (gratuit) you will receive a message about your messages, if you follow me, as it were. At an indeterminate time after you replace the handset, your equipment will ring.
