Tony F Dordogne
Hi folksWe're currently moggie sitting for a friend who's back in the Uk for a month. The cat is lovely, 16 years old and very easy to get along with.I was stroking him today and found what I thought was a skin tag but it turned out to be a tick.Could anybody recommend a good tick treatment please? Meg
Get it with tweezers and twist it carefully until it comes out. You can get very good little devices from the vet and bricos that make it easier, (but as it's not your cat not really relevant. )They are like this for anyone else interested (Also handy if you get one on yourself!) http://www.otom.com/
Dick Smith
After we paid the vet £40 to get one off of our cat he showed us how to make a home-made tick remover from an old credit card (ironic at his prices) - you cut a V in one end and then slide it under the tick, and it is pulled off in such a way as it doesn't leave the head behind to cause infection. Tony F Dordogne
Excellent, thanks folks - I think we shall probably inherit the cat anyway (friend likely to be going away soon) and if not J tells me I can have one of my own - she muttered something about the cat will make me sit down for a while because I'm silly with cats and I'll stop working!
