Christine Animal
We were called by someone who had taken in two dogs upon the death of a member of their family and couldn't keep them. An animal lover from Saint Maixent went to take photos of them this weekend so we could put ads.Horror, the two dogs were shut in a dirty sort of shed with no light and seemed very frightened, the people had plenty of other dogs around. They said the two dogs had to go very quickly, or else. Here they are at that time Some other animal lovers from Saint Maixent returned yesterday afternoon and took the two dogs away. Here they are again in better surroundings The look on the poor little Labrador's face tells all. They can only be kept by their kind rescuers for a few days. The first one is a young Labrador/Collie cross, male, still a pup, about eight months old.The Labrador, was born in 2003, he is rather small in size and very gentle. They are both very lovable dogs who have recently suffered. If anyone would like to offer one of them a home, please get in touch with me. Many thanks. Megan le Fey
What a wonderful result to a very sad story. Very well done to the people who rescued them and to their new owners. Both dogs look so sweet natured. Did they go together to the same new home or to different ones?
Christine Animal
Yes, they did a very good job, had the young one chipped and vaccinated and got the Labrador up to date with his vaccinations, then drove him all the way to Paris to his new family. The young one was adopted by a family from Niort who had recently lost their dog from old age.The couple who rescued them recently rescued a Labrador from Niort by taking him in foster care, had him neutered, etc. and then couldn't part with him ! So they really have been a great help and have now got themselves involved in animal rescue ! [:D]

Framboise
What a touching story! Just when I think about how ghastly some people can be to animals, we find an example of another person doing something selfless and wonderful to help. Thankyou for restoring my faith in humans Christine!
WJT
What a difference in the photos! So happy to hear they have both found loving homes. How lucky is the little Labrador to have found a loving family that will take him to the beach as well. [:D] Agree with Framboise, very heartwarming story.
