Jouals
Dalco has already been mentioned on an earlier post (someone looking for a Mastiff or Great Dane) - but I am giving him his own post now.... He deserves it!He is still at the Refuge Canin Lotois in Cahors (Tel: 0565226632) and just loves people - but spends nearly all his time in a cage on his own. He is vaccinated and microchipped, the Refuge will also arrange for him to be castrated. He is a big softy, but a large dog, so needs a strong owner (to whom I am sure he would soon become devoted). He was due to go to a foster home, but the lady has had an operation on her arm and cannot take him now. Anyone out there for him???Jouals
Rdupre
I so love big dogs!!! We lost our Great Dane a few years back and I still miss him. I'd take Dalco in a heartbeat if we were there but alas, we're still in Texas.
Jouals
What a shame Rdupre! For anyone wanting a great big, friendly dog who loves people - he is ideal!! Just needs someone to give him lots of attention and TLC!Jouals

Jouals
DALCO is still waiting for a new home so I am bumping him back up the posts. The lady who was going to foster him has still not been able to do so. You can see him at the Open Day at the Refuge Canin Lotois on 17 October! Along with EZIA (separate post) and all the others waiting for adoption.Jouals
Jouals
Yes, I am sad to say DALCO is still waiting for a new home - poor boy, so I am pushing him back to the top!!Conditions at the Refuge in Cahors are grim with the winter weather, plus 4 dogs were euthanased over Christmas due to overpopulation in cramped conditions!! Bad news.Jouals

Jouals
Hello allJust got back home - he's gone!!!!! She loved him at first sight!! After introductions, he got into the back of the car fine (we had no idea how he would be about getting into a strange car etc) and sat there ready to go - will post some pics as soon as I can. He is to be fostered in the first instance - it all hinges on how well he behaves himself now - especially with her other dog!! They will be kept separate to start with until he settles in. We were all thrilled and had tears in our eyes to see this boy go at long last! I looked into his eyes and you could just see such hope and happiness there, even after all that time in a refuge! He is going to be so happy there with so much space and freedom and company!! I hope I am not counting my chickens! Fingers crossed!!Many thanks to all, particularly Merlin as ever!! Will keep you posted with how things go...Jouals

Merlin
Thanks Russethouse - will do! Just heard from Diana folks!! Dalco was a dream all the way home - had an hour long walk (he thought he'd died and gone to heaven!) and Diana is so in love with this dog he's never leaving she says, no matter what she has to do to keep him!! He is bedded down in a large warm stable with piles of straw and blankets and was busy making himself a huge snug nest before taking a nap!! More updates will follow - but he's made himself right at home and being SUCH a good boy! I am going to sleep with a smile on my face tonight!
