wallifer
When the SPA state the date of birth of a dog, is that the age it was possibly tattooed/chipped when it arrived there ?
Christine Animal
I don't quite understand your question Wallifer as the age of a dog has nothing to do with the tattoo or chip, though their date of birth is marked on this identity. If the dog has been abandoned they may know the date of birth from the previous owner, if the dog has been found and nothing is known of its history then the date of birth is an estimate by the vet. woolybanana
It is a bit like the ages given by ladies on dating sites!
Rowan
At the Carcassonne SPA on a dog's first visit to the vet, if the dog is not already identified, then the vet guesses the dogs age, usually based on his teeth and the roughness of his pads, plus his general condition. wallifer
Rowan knew what I meant [:)] I didn't know how to phrase it properly and I asked because there is a Beagle cross girlie on the urgent list at my local SPA, her date of birth is down as 6 but she looks a lot older than that. p/s for Rowan little Bella is nicknamed Bella Buddha because she has got fat [:$], she spends her time snuggled up on the sofa with my old girl Sasha
Rowan
My Lily is called Lily-Belly for the same reason!
wallifer
I will always be grateful to you Rowan for rescuing her, she is a little sweetie, a bit thick at times, but that adds to her personality
