Felix
Our French neighbour has found a very young female German Shepherd. She says she has tried finding the owner without success but we are not convinced she has looked too hard. Dog is now tied up outside almost all day and night. Not sure where she found the dog but we are near Sarlat and I think she works in Le Bugue so could be anywhere around that area in the Dordogne. Trying not to get too involved but would like to see the dog reunited with its owner. Dog appeared at our neighbours just before New Year.
Chrissie
Has she taken the dog to a vet, to check for a microchip? Always the first step.Chrissie (81)

Felix
We have no idea what she has done to try and find the owner, just that nobody has claimed her. Not a lot we can do as cannot go storming in there and take her to the vets ourselves as we did not find her or know exactly where she was found. Starting to cause us problems now though as dog is barking through the night whilst chained up. Not going to be good for our chambre d'hote guests in a few months time. Action I think will be necessary, after a chat with her, if things do not improve. Why oh why do the French have dogs and then just leave them chained up day and night!!! WJT
I agree. We are surrounded by this in France, it's heart breaking. Perhaps there should be a campaign to educate.[:(]
