Pierre ZFP Posted March 5, 2012 Share Posted March 5, 2012 No that's not a typo, a colleague told me today of a scam which is new to me at least.My colleague was looking to re-home a cat, she looked on Leboncoin and there was a Manchun (sp?) cat, free to a good home. Now it seems that these are usually mega-expensive so, free?She email the owner and gets back a long email saying that they are British (note 'British not 'English') and they must leave France but cannot take the cat, looking for a good home, blah, blah. Then there's the catch, later in the email it says they are back in England with the cat and if she would just pay for vets fees, chipping, transport etc she could have the cat for 'free'Ok at most they might scam a few hundred Euros but a quick search revealed several such offers for a free high-valued animal.My colleague contacted Leboncoin to alert them and get this sort of ad removed but I thought I'd just mention it here.
