Vey sad story

Just read a very sad story in one of the Veterinary magazines. Seemingly a client came into a surgery with his dog and asked for it to be put to sleep. After checking that he really wanted the dog put to sleep the vet euthanized the dog.  On being told the dog was asleep the client then asked if they could clip his nails. It turned out all the client wanted was for the dog to be anethesised  and not put down. Such are the sad consequences of using euphemisms.
