calling all horsey peeps!

Recommended Posts

Hi I live in 22 and have noticed that there doesn't seem to be any 'saddlerys'around like they have in England, just the garden centers that do a VERY basic 'selection'! Have used a mail order company from England but found the delivery very expensive!!

Just wandering what other peoples thoughts are on this? From all areas not just 22!

Is there anything you find hard to get hold of? and also can you get English leather here? If so is it expensive?

Thanx

In general horse gear is more expensive, but there are saddle shops around you just need to find them out. We use UK mail order for some of stuff (clothing mianly) - e.g Jetset have very good shipping prices, but most of the stuff we use for competitions etc we get from France. E.g if a saddle or bridle doesn't fit or you need new leg protectors or saddle cloth for the weekend, mail order from the UK isn't much good.

There is a chain of horse shops called horsewood - not cheap and whilst they have some good quality stuff they don't have much in variety ,but they do do mail order - maybe a good starting point. there's also a few others ...

If your in the ile de france area I can highly recommend a tack shop http://haras-sellerie-chatel.com/ which is litterally busting at the seems with an enourmous range of stuff - but it is a fair way to travel and they don't do mail order

Hi Bex. Just where in 22 are you? We have the same difficulties with tack - poor choice and expensive to boot, but there are a few nice shops around. Let me know where you are and if you're near I'll give you details.
