Mps
Does anybody know what the regulations are for taking live fish from UK to France. Any advice on how to transport them would be useful too!We will be moving to our house in the Correze in the next couple of years and want to take our 20 Koi with us. Esperaza
In the absence of anyone more knowledgable posting a reply, I offer the following:I do not know about exporting carp varieties but to import them an Environmental Agency permit is needed to prevent two well known diseases (Spring Viraemia and Koi Herpes Virus) from being introduced to the UK. There has been a considerable number of incidents of carp being stolen from French waters and smuggled in through the Channel ports and recently two smugglers were jailed for bringing in large carp in a tank in the back of a Range Rover These carp were carrying Spring Viraemia which is deadly to the species. I would suggest that you contact the EA as they are responsible for all fish movements.
