Mutts
Pooch has just acquired his passport and he's very pleased with himself. When we take him to our house (near Bergerac), we're intending to break the journey by stopping in a hotel somewhere enroute. Does anyone know if dogs are accepted in hotels? Freyjabear
b&b hotels. www.hotelbb.com. Cheap, cheerful and basic, but comfy and they do a good breakfast. They give you a code to access you room, so you can arrive at anytime. Any you get your own shower. We stayed overnight on a long trip with 2 cats! Clarkkent
To the best of my knowledge, all the cheap chains allow animals to be kept in their rooms. Formule 1 and Villages-Hotels certainly do.

Maddie
Most of the hotels in places like "centre routiers" where you will find hotel chains like Ibis allow pets in rooms for a small fee (and have en-suites TV restaurant etc). If you stick to the major routes down you should not have any problems. Also its cheaper to stay in these chains at the weekend rather than during the week as they are geared up for busines travellers. We recently drove back from the tunnel to St Gaudens (nr Pyrenees) and stopped at Limoges. 2 large dogs, hotel room? No problem (Ibis)! Mind you we did stay at a 4* Hilton in the UK for 2 nights and there was no problem there either!http://www.ibishotel.com/ibis/index.htmlHave fun!
