Gardian
Great news and you'll now spend hours / days speculating where she's been all that time. Peckish, no doubt?
Rob Roy
Don't you just love them! Glad you have got her back again. I wonder if she got shut in somewhere while someone went away on holiday?
mooky
She is so hungry, and has follwed me around all day. She looks in good nick; I shall worm and flea her though I can't see evidence of either.
mooky
My cat only stayed a few days then was missing again until this saturday. Where do they go?I need some advice please My older two cats are so loved by me, 18 months old, both neutered brother and sister.but they won't accept new kitten. Both just don't like coming in the house anymore. Ones never here anyway, but Harry went everywhere with me, now i have to shut all doors so I can give him a cuddle before he goes out again. I feel so awful, wil it ever change? Thank you
Catalpa
Probably it will improve. Years ago, I introduced two kittens to a spayed, female cat who'd been with us since she was a kitten - 8 years. She never adjusted and hated them. Eventually I had to give her a suite of rooms at the top of the house with her own magnetic-key catflap through the partition wall into what was actually our bedroom, bathroom, etc.A couple of years ago, we got two kittens - litter brothers - eventually neutered. They never really got on together and have never curled up together to sleep. A year later we introduced two rescue kittens, boy and girl. One boy slapped the kittens around; the other thought they were rather cuddly really. [8-|] Eventually all got on well and various combinations do curl up together but the two original brothers are rarely on the same sofa. Then about 4 months ago, another kitten appeared on our doorstep - literally. Only one of the original cats tolerated him, the others slapped him around. Then one by one they've all come around to thinking he's okay though only this week has the female rescue stopped hissing and spitting at the latest arrival.I think success may partly depend on how you introduce the newcomer/s. We wait until the newcomer/s have had chance to adjust to us and the house and "acquire the house smell"! Part of that is achieved by swopping dirt trays around so the existing cats get the newbie's dirt tray and vice versa. By the time everyone is allowed in together the newbie doesn't smell such a stranger. However, you are changing the hierarchy of your cat family so you might find that Harry's behaviour does change, possibly permanently. Or it might not. Have you got an open fire or woodburner? Come winter, we've always found a nice warm fire usually persuades everyone to lie down together. Good luck. Fiona
They will settle eventually although whether Harry will totally accept it is another story. The "Top Cat" will remain and certainly in my case Truly tolerated others (after a few months) but NO-ONE was allowed on my lap but her. The night we lost her, 2nd in command was on my lap and on the bed and has been there ever since. The kitten (15 years old now!!!) comes onto my lap ONLY when Charlie is asleep upstairs. The minute he appears - off she goes!! The visitors we have (4 of) are allowed in most days until Charlie decides otherwise! I'm sure he doesn't like himself somedays never mind others!Don't fret - they will settle. It'll just take time.
