Christine Animal
I just heard that someone in our area was repairing or doing something with his kennel and his two dogs ran off.He searched for them everywhere, but there was no trace of them. Then exactly a month later they went out and on their return found a note on their door "look in your kennel".The two dogs were there like skeletons. About three kilometres away there is a house for sale and luckily someone finally visited it and found the two dogs in the empty swimming pool. Luckily there was some rainwater in the pool which enabled them to survive, but they hadn't eaten for a month.Knowing the dogs and the owner, it was the pompiers who took them home and put them in the kennel. What a story! Bugsy
Leaving a pool empty with no means for animals to escape is bordering on criminal in my book. We leave a small plank of wood in ours, attached to the side and floating. I've yet to fish out any creature (apart from one of our cats [:D] not impressed at all ) so it must work.A good end to the story though.
woolybanana
An unfenced pool, then?
Christine Animal
Must have been. But surely there are steps into an in-ground pool at the shallow end?. Maybe it was an above-ground one, I don't know. Dangerous things though.
Georgina
It's a bit odd that they went in in the first place. Do you think someone put them there. I can't imagine our dog going in unless there was water in it.
Christine Animal
Who knows Georgina. Maybe they went in for a drink or maybe there was already a rabbit or something trapped in it.
