Chrissie
Have you tried the "dobermanneuropa" forum? They have all sorts of things on there, and it looks like there is a Dobermann Rescue Association in France but you have to sign in etc to the forum. Try googling it.Chrissie (81)
Christine Animal
http://www.dobermannendetresse.com/http://www.sosdobermann.com/These are the two main rescues in France. Let us know if you find one!
PaulT
Thank you Chrissie and Christine. At present we are not looking for one and it would be a problem taking one from France as we are in the UK so problems with getting one in.We are on our third Dobermann, who is from a UK rescue centre and at some point in the future there will be a fourth. The reason for the enquiry is that we are in France next week and going to the Notaire to make out French Wills for our French property. In it we would like to leave some money to French Dobermann charities.Paul
PaulT
http://www.dobermannendetresse.com/http://www.sosdobermann.com/These are the two main rescues in France. Let us know if you find one!
As per my original reply to Christine that we were not looking for one......Our Notaire has now contacted both the charities and they cannot accept legacies. Seems such a shame, although hopefully we are not deprating this World just yet.The expense of rescuing animals must be quiet high - transporting, kenneling, food, vets bills etc - so a shame.Paul.... I must admit when I met the person who is now my wife she had a Dobermann and I thought 'I'll be lucky if I retain all my limbs'. However, whilst they can be trained to be viscious and seem a favourite guard dog for the Germans in war films, what wonderful, gentle and affectionate dogs they are. When my wifes dog died there was no hesitation that the next one would be a Dobermann. She came from a rescue centre and whilst you wonder how they are going to be you make allowances for anything that might have been from a previous home.
