Frederick
I listened to a woman on the radio today who has remortgaged her home in order to offer a £10.000 reward for the return of her dog ... One of her 4 dogs the pointer b i t c h who can not breed went missing when she was returning from walking them and loading her car . Believing the dog to have been stolen the reward is being offered "No questions asked in cash " as long as she gets the dog back . I am sorry for her loosing her pet ....but ... This sort of thing must make other dog owners feel uneasy about their pet being grabbed in the expectation of a big sum being offered ... There are dogs in my family We are all fond of them but I could not sanction a big reward to benefit a thief to get one back if it was taken ... idun
Yes, I bet it will encourage thieves. If any of my pet's went missing, then I probably give the person something if they had been looking after my pet for some time, not only to cover any costs that they had incurred, but to thank them too. However, it wouldn't be OTT.I would never ever buy an animal, the animals have all been from people who wanted to give them away, and sometimes ASAP. Rabbie
It's a hard choice but as with kidnap ransoms the more you pay the more you encourage the criminal activity. That said I know I would be prepared to spend a lot if one of my family was kidnapped.
