Mariko
HiWe will be arriving in Normandy in the next month or so. We will bringing our aged Volvo with us until we sort out another car. Our insurance company have informed us that they will only cover the car for seven days after we move. Is this normal pratice? Will it be easy to insure our car in France? ThanksMike
Nick Trollope
This has been "covered" (pun intended)plenty (see a few posts below), but essentially;Insurance here is usually cheaper than the UK and is very easy to arrange, even on a UK-plated car. Just visit your local Insurance Broker (at least 1 on every high street). Your UK NCD can be used over here. Insurance usually includes breakdown cover. They will try to sell you all sorts of extra's though, which you may resist..Your UK cover will probably reduce to minimum legal after the 7 days, so you won't be without cover completely.Nickhttp://www.aplaceinfrance.com
