Lachouette
We brought our old UK registered Seat Toledo to France to keep us going until we bought a LHD vehicle. The road fund licence runs out at the end of the month and, as we no longer need 2 cars and the car has a leak in its power steering, we want to dispose of it.If anyone needs free parts for a Toledo, or would like it, let us know - we're near Eymoutiers (87). We'd appreciate advice about how to scrap a vehicle properly in France. Do we have to hand over the registration documents as we need them to return to the DVLA, scrapping it officially in the UK too. Thanks
Richardbk
be warned .. officially you can't do it. I know because I had a collegue (or rather our admin staff on his behalf) that went on a red tape chase to get his scrapped. They did it eventually, but first they had to officially 'import' it. . Afterall you could be scrapping somebody elses UK car - how would the French authorities know !You may be lucky , but few scrap yards are going to take it unless it has french paper work.regsRichard
