Helen888
we bought our car in the UK three months ago and were about to re-register here. We have now had a new car donated to us by a friend moving overseas for a year and want to sell the car we bought in the UK. I seem to remember some French rule about needing to own the car for six months in the country of origin but i cant remember whether it related to re-registering it or selling it or both...i am sure one of these rules was changed last year but again, cant remember which! I would be really grateful if anyone could let me know if its possible to re-register the car when we bought it so recently and if its allowable to sell. Its such a pain to go back to the Uk to sell the thing.
Stephenlemmon
I think the 6-month thing only applies to import duty. As long as the VAT is all paid up then you can do what you want with the car.Stephen.
