Mlonghurst
My wife and I are just buying a large stock trailer in the UK. Do Trailers require additional insurance, testing, plates in France? We move over in Jan 05.Regards, Mike L
springbank
Moved over last month with a new Ifor Williams stock trailer made to 'French spec', give them a phone aqnd they will be able to help you out. Not all makes of stock trailer are legally accepted out here if they are not towed by a british plated vehicle , e.g your tractor. They were very helpful and they have a office in Paris to sort out the french end when you want to re-regristrer it. all the best with the move, we are in La Creuse and it,s greatGraham
Mlonghurst
Graham,The trailer we have purchased is a modified Wessex WLT 1288x Stock Trailer. Do you have any idea if there is any one (or office) I can contact in France to find out if the trailer will be acceptible? (This wold save me from brining it over to find that it fails the test!!!). Wessex have informed me that they can provide me with a technical description of the trailer, however the trailer has been professionaly modified to carry heavy horses (i.e a center partition has been incorporated).Regards, Mike L
