Peter S Bartlett
I am unable to obtain a letter of conformity for France for my Mitsubishi Pajero, but I have obtained an SVA certificate. SVA stands for Single Vehicle Approval Scheme and was issued for the vehicle when it was imported into the UK from Japan. The French embassy cant or wont help, so can anyone tell me if this is as good as the letter of conformity please. Thanks Peter and Sue
Will
It depends whether the single vehicle type approval relates to just the UK (most likely) or to the EU. If the latter, you should be OK but it might be difficult to persuade the French authorities. If the former it probably won't help much, but as it's an official-looking document it might help with the alternative to a certificate of conformity, i.e. getting your local DRIRE (or dept des mines) to issue an attestation that the vehicle complies with French requirements, a sort of French equivalent to the SVA.Hope this helps.
