chicfille Posted March 6, 2005 Share Posted March 6, 2005 Just recently, several French friends and acquaitances have mentioned some radio/tv programme that informed listeners that when you buy a house in the UK you only own it for a certain number of years, then the governement turns up to take it off you! Which is why so many Brits are buying homes in France....Obviously a spectacular misunderstanding of the leasehold system, but has anyone else come across this myth? Anyone know where it came from?
