I have not had anything from the Water people about the change of ownership or a bill of any kind - EDF were pretty fast with there €50 "charges" for the change over but nothing about water at all..I think it's chase up time, any idea who I have to contact ?, Were in Dept 24 not far from Riberac, is the water a national co or is it controlled locally (I know the sewerage can be locally controlled if you don't have a Fosse ?!) Chrissie
Probably worth checking with your notaire/immobilier who handled the house purchase whether the water meter was read at the time of takeover. They will also know who the local water company is, so you could at least go along there clutching your latest meter reading and get the service changed to your name. Water bills come only once or twice a year usually.Chrissie (81)
BJSLIV
Alternatively ask at the Mairie, in many/most rural areas the water is run by one of the two big water companies on behalf of the council, or in some cases is still run by the council itself.
