Lespearsons
I know you must rivet the number plates on to a vehicle but does any one know if the same rules apply to trailers? Thanks in advanceKeith
Iceni
Don't know the rules but I assumed yes - as all the trailers I have seen use this method.Though chalk on old piece of cardboard is much favoured in some quarters.Johnnot
Will
If the trailer is over a certain weight (I think it's 500 or 750kg) then it needs its own registration documents and number. In this case I would imagine the plate must be permanently fixed. For smaller trailers, which carry the number of the towing vehicle, then I would imagine that a detachable or temporary number plate would be quite OK - though don't quote me on this.
