Richard-R
It is now a blue badge and i.e. a Euro badge. When my mother in law visits we just park in the disabled bays and pop her badge on the top of the dash board. We get a few funny looks, a blue badge and the nature/type of car we have lol. I think the spots are signed ccg or some like that. They are painted blue on the road. Very easy to spot and in cental locations. If in doubt ask a police man. Stocky
My wife has a Blue Badge and has no problems with its use in France. Although as in the UK she never tries to abuse it by parking outside specified bays. Be aware that the French certainly enforce the rules more than the UK so make sure it is clearly displayed. On my last visit the National Police were issuing tickets for vehicles parked illegally in the bays at Auchan in Boulogne. They were satisfied that my wife's badge was valid as I am sure they would have jumped at the opportunity to book an English car illegally parked. Val_2
Washy you may have to go through the whole process again here in France to apply for a disabled sticker and then you will only be awarded one if you are 80% or more disabled I'm afraid. My elderly friends started the ball rolling at their doctors who wrote to the tribunal for an appointment to assess both of them. One then had to attend a specialist clinic at a hospital over 60kms away for the disability to her feet and was refused any disabled stickers because they said she could still walk with sticks. Her husband has a very bad back and cannot walk too far, he too was sent for an interview with a panel 60 kms away but decided to forget the whole thing. Their doctor is currently trying again to get a sticker for the foot problem but no luck so far. You could also try first of all at the local mairie to see if they can help replace your sticker otherwise as I say,see your doctor here in France.
