Tony F Dordogne
We took the plunge and bought a French car from a local garage here in 24 which had previously been registered in 46.We toddled off to the Prefecture in Perigueux yesterday to get it reregistered. Entered building at 10.35 am and took our ticket, left just before 11.00 am clutching our new carte grise. Is 25 minutes a new record for French bureaucracy? Miki
Not sure really, in a case like yours, it only depends on the length of the queue !I am registering another car this week, the Certificat de Cession papers are already filled in by both seller and buyer(me)and therefore in order (downloaded from the net)the car doesn't need a CT, is French "born and bred" (though unfortunately from the neighbouring dept !)the carte grise is in order and, these days there is so little required now, that it is a walk in the park to what was, especially for registering UK cars, which now is basically pretty simple (forgetting some imports or variations not recognised at DRIRE of course !!)So I will pick a time which should give me the best chance of a quick turnaround at the sous prefecture in Saint Malo (sods law that what should be the best time will see others who had the same thought !!)
