Nick Trollope
Look at your UK licence, but basically; If you have a full UK car licence, then you can ride a m/c up to 125cc & 5Hp. There are some exception to the rule (if eg. you passed your car test after Jan 1992?).I don't think that an A1 bike licence (34BHP limit) is recognised in France, only the full A licence. But I stand to be corrected. There is a minimum age limit for driving in France on a foreign licence - it may be as high as 21 and it certainly not 17.A UK provisional licence is worthless here.Otherwise usual rules apply; helmets, insurance and daytime lights compulsory. No CT(MOT) for bikes. All new bikes (including 50cc) must now be registered from new, all unregistered bikes (the vast bulk of 50cc machines) must be registered by 2009.
