Val_2
Filled up with 98 unleaded at Super U on Thursday morning. Price was 1,26€/litre. Yesterday at same service station, same petrol had gone upto 1,38€/litre. That is some increase in two days when it had been stable or moving one centime either way. Many will say, it dosn't matter, petrol is still cheaper in France but when you run five vehicles and earn french wages it makes a very large dent in your business profit and driving for pleasure becomes something you start to feel guilty about. Diesel was 1,09€/litre last night.
Baz
"Many will say, it dosn't matter, petrol is still cheaper in France"For the last few years Petrol in France was about 10p cheaper than the UK, but on the figures quoted by Val it is now 4p a litre more expensive than many of the the UK supermarkets as of yesterday. Based on current figures France has increased about 15p a litre more than the UK over the last couple of months.Who's ripping off who in France ?Baz
Nick Trollope
The truth, and reality of the matter, is that French pump prices tend to follow the crude price much more quickly, and more "acurately". Hopefully, when the US has finished slaughtering Middle Eastern and it's own citizens, then the crude price will fall back a tad and the French price will follow suit. The UK prices won't, however.
