Temporary or Export Registration

This fall, I'd like to buy a used car in France, drive it in France and Western Europe for a month, then export it to Canada. Does anyone know how I could go about registering and insuring it? I won't have a carte de sejour or a fixed address. Is there any kind of temporary or export registration?

PS - I know about the programs that Peugeot and Renault offer for tax-free new car leases. It's a possibility, but I'd rather try this first.
