Wendy
Can anyone tell me which is the better tyre for driving on icy/snowy roads...narrow tyres like on the old 2CV's or a wider, broader tyre. A french friend said the thicker wider surface makes for more skidding, but the narrower tyres are better.

hoverfrog
narrow tyres every time.I remember seeing a programme on English TV years ago about a multi-terrain vehicle that was specially designed to cross the Sahara. They were struggling over a large dune when what should come in the other direction, in the middle of nowhere, but a 2CV!!
